LOCAL CHARITY RAISES $300,000 TO OFFER SPORTS AND RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES
Every child deserves the opportunity to be a part of a sports and recreational team, but for kids with disabilities, this isn’t always possible. The health and/or physical challenges they face make it difficult or impossible to partake in these types of programs. Most of the time, they simply get to watch their peers or siblings enjoy these activities while they sit on the sidelines.
Kinetic Kids – whose mission is to enrich the lives of children with special needs through adaptive sports, fine arts, and educational programs – is making sure children with all (dis)abilities get off the sidelines and on the fields. With over 200 programs offered, children with disabilities can now enjoy basketball, soccer, dance, baseball, swimming, cheer, archery and many other sports and recreational activities that are adapted specifically to their needs.
Kinetic Kids recently held their biggest fundraiser of the year, the Hootenanny, and raised a total of $300,000 through the support of many in the community. We would like to give a special thanks to the generosity of our top sponsors: The Donnell Family, The Greehey Family Foundation, The Mays Family Foundation, Laura and Lew Moorman, PCSI, and Andrea and Karl Pichler.
All proceeds raised will directly support our mission and ensure that these programs for children with disabilities can continue throughout San Antonio, New Braunfels, and Schertz.
