SA Premier Swimming
Competitive swim coaches offer training to increase speed and endurance, as well as guide instruction, to further develop swim stroke techniques. Athletes must have a desire and ability to compete as they will train for swim meets throughout the year. Learn more about scholarships here.

Division Requirements
- Athlete may have a physical or intellectual disability
- Successful tryout or recommendation by staff in the Allstar division
- Possess the skill and desire to compete at a higher level
- Must be able to comprehend and retain rules and skills, and then build upon them from week to week
- 1:1 support is not provided, so must be able to train, compete, function in a group setting and follow the coach’s directions without volunteer assistance

SA Premier Team
- No assistance is provided in the water, so athletes must swim independently in depths of up to 9 feet
- Swimmers must be able to swim 25m without stopping and at least 300-500m within a practice session
- Athlete must be able to successfully perform a minimum of two swim strokes
- Swimmers must demonstrate independent safety awareness and follow safety rules on deck in the pool
- Must commit to local swim meets throughout the year
- Goggles, fins and kickboard are also recommended
Developmental Team
- Athletes must swim independently in depths of up to 9 feet
- Swimmers must be able to swim 25m without stopping and at least 200-300m within the practice session, with minimal assistance
- Swimmers must demonstrate independent safety awareness and follow safety rules on deck in the pool
- Goggles, fins and kickboard are also recommended
